This purchase is for a set of engine guards, luggage guards, and front axle sliders. The sliders feature a new design of a complete solid puck without a hollowed-out center. This increases the strength and contact surface to about 30%. The steel tubing is bolted to the engine mount of the bike and the slider puck is bolted onto it. The luggage guards mount to the sub-frame. The steel tubing has two attachment points preventing them from rotating in the event of a low side. The engine guards are braced together by a crossbar in order to increase its strength. The luggage guards are braced together as well. The material of the puck is made of UHMW-PE (ultra high molecular weight polyethylene), a tough plastic with good strength, wear resistance and dimensional stability. It is more dimensionally stable than Nylon and used in many industrial ball bearing and friction reducing applications. Compared to Delrin, it is softer but tougher. Delrin is harder but more brittle. It is an ideal material for engine guards/frame sliders since it can absorb more impact force onto itself and therefore reduce the impact on the bike. The slider pucks and skidplates can be inexpensively replaced in case of a low-side. For the front axle sliders, the installation is a simple bolt on with the bar going through the axle and one plastic puck on each side. We use highest grade commercially available 12.9(177,000 psi in tensile strength) wherever possible. Rest assured that you are getting the best material commercially available.

5 of 5 Trex Guards on my Connie 14 March 25, 2024
Reviewer: Simon E from LIVERMORE, CA United States
Ordered Front + rear guards for my Concours 14. Shipped to my door quickly, and well packed. Shipped complete with all the hardware needed .

Unwrapping all the bubblewrap off of the parts took almost as long as the install itself.

All parts attached to the bike with no issues whatsoever, everything fit as it should.
Minor non-issue, the lower attachment rod's spacers swap left to right as suggested in a youtube instructional vid, otherwise good instructions documents
Other minor edit, for the front guard - torque all three bolts / nuts each side to 44 ft lbs per factory service guide.

The bike's rear luggage guard mounts on top of the existing footpeg bracket , those torque to 25 ft lbs

in summary, I am well pleased, looks sleek fitted to the bike, excellent fit and finish, seems quite sturdy, hopefully I will never need to test their effectiveness in a tip over.

Bought and installed the total Engine guards, Luggage guards and Front-axle slider for my 2012 Kawasaki Concours 14.  Fast shipping, good communication.  Install instructions were a bit confusing for the engine guards though, recommend you watch the youtube instructions for orienting what goes where first.. Great products!!!!
