This purchase is for a set of engine guards for the above bike model. We have improved quality and strength the engine guards by adding some more features. These new engine guards feature four attachment points (two on each side) and are braced together in the middle (Top and bottom, version 1 is only one middle brace) to prevent them from rotating in the event of a low side. The engine guards also come with a set of replaceable pucks that can be inexpensively replaced without purchasing a new set of steel guards. Think of them as protection for your protection! The steel tubing is bolted to the engine mount of the bike and the puck is bolted onto it. The material of the puck is made of UHMW-PE (ultra high molecular weight polyethylene), a tough plastic with good strength, wear resistance and dimensional stability. It is more dimensionally stable than Nylon and used in many industrial ball bearing and friction reducing applications. Compared to Delrin, it is softer but tougher. Delrin is harder but more brittle. It is an ideal material for engine guards/frame sliders since it can absorb more impact force onto itself and therefore reduce the impact on the bike. The slider pucks can be inexpensively replaced in case of a low-side. We use highest grade commercially available 12.9(177,000 psi in tensile strength) wherever possible. Rest assured that you are getting the best material commercially available.

They fit great out of the box.  I wish they had an additional mounting point in the front, but I think they'll hold up okay when I put it over.

This unit perfectly fits my bike and was fun to install. The hardest part of installing the crash guard, was taking all the protective wrapping and cardboard off. Not a scratch. This thing is solid and looks like it's going to protect my bike. Thanks T-Rex

4 of 5 Good Coverage, Solid and Has replaceable slide pad June 4, 2020

I wanted to give this 5 stars but the install required sanding and grinding to make them fit.  As for the bars, they are solid, cover top and bottom plus have replaceable sliders should you go down.  Great design.

As for the install, I am sure the top and bottom fit fine pre-powder coating but not post powder coating.  They would not slide in, the holes for the screws were a bit too small and there were metal burs in the pipes.  All fixable if you have the patience and tools...we had both.

Again great crash protection and other then install issues they are 5 star bars for my 2020 Honda CB500X ABS.  Yes I would buy again but I would just know to pre-grind rather then mid install :).
