This purchase is for a combo set of luggage guards, engine guards, and front axle sliders for the above bike model. The sliders feature a new design of a complete solid puck without a hollowed-out center. This increases the strength and contact surface to about 30%. The steel tubing is bolted to the sub frame of the bike and the slider puck is bolted onto it. The steel tubing has two attachment points preventing them from rotating in the event of a low side. The material of the puck is made of UHMW-PE (ultra high molecular weight polyethylene), a tough plastic with good strength, wear resistance and dimensional stability. It is more dimensionally stable than Nylon and used in many industrial ball bearing and friction reducing applications. Compared to Delrin, it is softer but tougher. Delrin is harder but more brittle. It is an ideal material for luggage guards since it can absorb more impact force onto itself and therefore reduce the impact on the bike. The slider pucks can be inexpensively replaced in case of a low-side. We use highest grade commercially available 12.9(177,000 psi in tensile strength) wherever possible. Rest assured that you are getting the best material commercially available on the market.

4 of 5 Nice bars with one issue August 31, 2021
Reviewer: Tim from Phoenix, AZ USA
I really like these bars. They really blend into a 2020 FJR1300, like they really belong. Not overly bulky and don't get in the way while riding. The one issue I have is the tube diameter. The diameter is small, less than even the low side of industry standard (1" - 1 1/2"). This means highway pegs are all but out of the question, unless you want to drop $300-$400 on custom pegs, or IF T-Rex starts making their highway pegs again. (Every time I've looked they are out of stock.)

5 of 5 Engine/Luggage guard combo kit October 27, 2020
Reviewer: TJ from Fairmont, WV United States
I just put the engine guards, luggage guards and front axle slider on a 2019 FJR ES and it was pretty easy.  Torque wrench and 22mm socket is required for the axle slider nut.  The instructions and video(s), including on YouTube, are all you need even if you have minimal mechanical aptitude.  The only gripe I have is the plastic "bumper" that is on the engine guard sticks out a long way.  It could be half as thick and would still work, but that's very minor and everything is high quality.  They arrived super fast and were packaged very well.  I'd recommend them to anyone.

5 of 5 First Impressions August 29, 2020
Reviewer: Peter Blacklin from Columbia MD
Having done a lot of research into this type of protection, I determined that T-Rex made a quality product, structurally sound etc.  The box arrived today.  Very well packaged. I think it took longer to undo the wrapping than to fit the system on my FJR.  This is a quality piece of kit. Good instructions.   The guard system blend in with the FJR, unobtrusive.  It will still be a beast to pick up, but I won't have to get the paint out.   I decided to make the investment before any scratches even though I've put 19K miles on this FJR and over 110K on FJR's.
