Why this HD skid plate is the best |

The T-Rex Heavy Duty Skid plate is the only one that doesn't use the Versys X300 lower plastic cowls original brackets that attach to the fragile screws/ears on the aluminum oil pan. The extended ears can easily be damaged with any hard impact during off road ground contact or even urban curbs or other objects. The only issue is out of the box it offers too little fore/aft support but that can be easily fixed with a 5th brace in the rear utilizing one of the center stand M10 frame mounts for maximum strength. Or my latest updating with two angle iron brackets (the 5th and 6th) going to both center stand M10 frame mounts and it becomes so strong that I now use a standard motorcycle jack (not the paddock type) to lift the whole bike up for maintenance, chain cleaning, oil changes, etc. This a solid skid plate that with a little more engineering can raise your bike to a whole new level (up and off the floor). I don't work for T-Rex but I should. :)
