This purchase is for a set of engine guard for the above bike models. The guards feature two mounting points on each side and are braced together in the middle to increase its strength. Our engine guards also come with replaceable ultra high molecular weight polyethylene pucks that can be inexpensively replaced. Think of them as protection for your protection. The material of the puck is made of UHMW-PE (ultra high molecular weight polyethylene), a tough plastic with good strength, wear resistance and dimensional stability. It is more dimensionally stable than Nylon and used in many industrial ball bearing and friction reducing applications. Compared to Delrin, it is softer but tougher. Delrin is harder but more brittle. It is an ideal material for frame sliders since it can absorb more impact force onto itself and therefore reduce the impact on the frame and engine. The slider pucks can be inexpensively replaced in case of a low-side. We use highest grade commercially available 12.9 (177,000 psi in tensile strength) wherever possible. Rest assured that you are getting the best material commercially available.

5 of 5 Good looking and tough !!!! August 11, 2022

I am so happy and satisfied with my T-Rex DL650 engine guards👍
My wife and I went down on a slick slab and the guards saved our legs and the bike was fine except for a tweaked rear brake lever, which was easily straightened out.
The guards were tweaked a little bit but not enough to notice and the protection puck was just a little scratched. The guards are very tough as our combined weight is over 400lbs plus the bike!
Really pleased and thank you Rubens for the great service regarding the replacement bolts for the front lower cross bar.

4 of 5 Rooms for improvement April 4, 2020

So I had this crash for about a year, withing that time frame the right slider on the crash bar went loose during a ride and today I was checking my bike for an odd vibrating sound and turned out that one of the bolts for the left crash bar also went loose and missing. It would be a good idea if you all also add a thread locker to the kit to prevent this from happening to others.
If it weren't for that, I would give it five stars.

5 of 5 Great product, but could use some tweeks October 25, 2019

Look great, easy install, nice price, haven't tested how well they work in a crash, not about to. Only issue is that in less than 250 miles one of the pucks fell off on the highway, never to be seen again. I am not an engineer, but a safety feature like that should not vibrate loose. At $45per replacement, 2  pucks is over half the starting price for a whole new kit. With that kind of failure it makes protection useless in a crash.
Maybe a redesign with a center spring and a reverse channel lock. Or even go old school with a cotter pin design. Just my 2cents. for now instead of being lopsided, i took the other off till I can afford a replacement. Is there an alt guard?
