This purchase is for a set of engine guards for the above bike model. The sliders feature a new design of a complete solid puck without a hollowed-out center. This increases the strength and contact surface to about 30%. The pucks can be inexpensively replace without purchasing a new set of steel guards. The steel tubing is bolted to the engine mount of the bike and the slider puck is bolted onto it. The steel tubing has two attachment points and braced together in the middle (top & bottom) to prevent them from rotating in the event of a low side. The engine guards are braced together by a crossbar in order to increase its strength. The material of the puck is made of UHMW-PE (ultra high molecular weight polyethylene), a tough plastic with good strength, wear resistance and dimensional stability. It is more dimensionally stable than Nylon and used in many industrial ball bearing and friction reducing applications. Compared to Delrin, it is softer but tougher. Delrin is harder but more brittle. It is an ideal material for engine guards / frame sliders since it can absorb more impact force onto itself and therefore reduce the impact on the bike. The slider pucks can be inexpensively replaced in case of a low-side. We use highest grade commercially available 12.9(177,000 psi in tensile strength) wherever possible. Rest assured that you are getting the best material commercially available.

5 of 5 2024 Versys 650 LT Easy Install and Good Looking July 2, 2024
Reviewer: Lucas from British Columbia - Canada
I installed on my 2024 Versys 650 LT (Canadian version) and it was super easy, following the video on this page and the paper instructions that came with it. It looks good on my bike. Thankfully I didn't have the opportunity to test it yet (meaning I didn't drop/crash).
It seems to be good quality!

It was easy to install the T-Rex crash bars on my 2016 Versys 650. I didn't have to remove any plastic.

5 of 5 Easiest and cleanest addition to my bike November 28, 2023

I was very worried as I have never heard of t-rex racing before, however it was a perfect fit, I was so surprised by how quick I was finished I had to look for extra parts, but no, its just super easy (and sturdy).

5 of 5 Works and looks great August 16, 2023
Reviewer: Zach Lawton from Rhode Island
Bought these for my new 2023 Versys 650 LT. Accidentally tipped the bike over while parking, and these crash bars completely protected the bike. These are definately the best option to protect your Versys on the market. Installation was also very easy, just make sure you have a 3/8 torque wrench, blue locktite and an 8mm Allen socket to go on the torque wrench
