This purchase is for a set of engine guards for the above bike model. The engine guards feature new aluminum skid plates which can be inexpensively replaced without purchasing a new set of steel guards. The steel tubing is bolted to the engine mount of the bike. The steel tubing has three attachment points and braced together to prevent them from rotating in the event of a low side. We use highest grade commercially available 12.9(177,000 psi in tensile strength) wherever possible. Rest assured that you are getting the best material commercially available.

1 of 5 Did not protect bike from engine damage 0mph June 12, 2024
Reviewer: ben from MS
Purchased on Amazon, the bike was knocked over in driveway, 0mph just knocked over to the right opposite the kickstand. The guard covers the middle fairing, but the lower faring broke, and the crankshaft sensor cover was broken on the bottom, and motor was leaking oil. The guard was barely scratched, but like I said the engine case was broken. These guards desperately need a lower section to be effective. I plan to contact T-Rex customer support to ask them about plans to add a lower section, if they don't intend to make one I'll be selling these and looking into other products that may actually protect the bike from accidents. These guards are very good quality, very sturdy, just don't offer low enough coverage to actually protect the engine. I'll update the review after hearing back from the company. Unfortunately there isn't an option to upload pictures -

5 of 5 Worth twice the price January 7, 2024

Installed on a 2023 zx14r. The bar color matches the graphenesteel paint. The design, materials, welds, labor offers 10x the protection of a frame slider at less then 4x the cost. Brilliant. Instructions for the 2023 model need to be updated. Installation is different (you replace the 12mm rear top engine mount bolt it sits at 12oclock on the clutch basket as per the instructions but the other 10mm bolt thats at 9oclock to the clutch basket stays you simply slide the new 10mm bolt inside and through it. As a result the spacers are not flush fit but they are locked in. The two front engine bolts install as per the installation instructions

Rock solid and looks good.

Put 'em on my 2014   zx14r before a return trip coast to coast, short hop 8247 miles, They're awesome and will save your plastic if bike tips or a small deer hit's it (like what happened to me )  Bike 1  (won) Bambi  zero ( not dead but dazed and staggering around).  I  also had a ram mount Beverage holder and some Go Pro mounts pegged onto them as well.  Worked out great.  Recommend if you go touring !  too bad we cant add pics in these reviews.
